Education
We create clear, practical learning experiences that help people understand family challenges and respond with greater skill.
Education built for real family life
The Institute for Applied Family Education develops practical, research-informed tools, frameworks, and educational initiatives for the challenges families and helping professionals face in real life.
Our purpose
Families are often surrounded by advice but left without a clear way to apply it. IFAFE exists to close that gap. We translate complex ideas from family life, communication, parenting, mental health, and conflict into usable education that supports better judgment, steadier leadership, and healthier family environments.
Our work is designed to be understood, practiced, and carried into the moments where it matters most.
We create clear, practical learning experiences that help people understand family challenges and respond with greater skill.
We develop original frameworks and tools that turn complicated dynamics into decisions people can actually use.
We equip parents and helping professionals to bring greater clarity, responsibility, and emotional steadiness to family life.
Current initiatives
IFAFE's initiatives address different parts of family life while sharing a commitment to practical education, disciplined communication, and stronger environments for children.

A practical system for ending destructive communication cycles.
Co-Parenting Detox helps parents communicate with greater discipline when trust and cooperation are unreliable. Its tools help people decide what requires a response, how much engagement a situation deserves, and when continued conversation creates more harm than clarity.
Visit Co-Parenting DetoxIFAFE draws from established ideas across family systems, parenting education, conflict management, trauma-informed care, mental-health coaching, and child-centered practice. The Institute's role is application: organizing useful knowledge into frameworks, publications, and learning experiences that people can carry into everyday family life.
IFAFE provides education and general informational resources. Its public materials are not a substitute for medical care, mental-health treatment, legal advice, or emergency services.
Advisory Committee
IFAFE draws on advisory perspectives across parenting education, family communication, behavioral health, family law, and family wellness to keep its resources practical, thoughtful, and responsive to real family life.
